The table below sets out expenditure to date for the Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust Public Inquiry. The Inquiry was announced by the Secretary of State for Health (Andrew Lansley MP) on the 9 June 2010.
The figures below give the expenditure incurred by the Inquiry each month, rounded to the nearest £50. The total for each month reflects the cost of work carried out in that month and is calculated from:
These figures will be therefore be subject to some adjustment as the costs for each month are confirmed, and the figures below will be kept updated accordingly. A more detailed breakdown for each month is available through the links below.
Only expenditure authorised through or on behalf of the Inquiry Secretariat is included in these figures. This includes the legal bills for three organisations whose legal costs are being met by the Inquiry: Cure the NHS, Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA) and the Patients Association. Other organisations involved in the Inquiry will have costs that are met internally and are not included within the Inquiry’s expenditure figures.
